Lioness at river bank Luangwa river Lodge

Zambia: okt 10-22

My first trip to the "real" Africa exceeded my expectations, I loved every minute of it and will surely go back. Starting off in the Lower Zambezi we stayed at both www.sausagetreecamp. and www.chiawa.com, Beautiful lodges, the staff could not have been friendlier and more accommodating. We did gamedrives, canoeing trips, and tigerfishing. From the Lower Zambezi we flew from Royal Airstrip via Lusaka to Livingstone to see one of the seven Natural Wonders of the World: The Victoria Falls. The Royal Livinstone hotel is a great place with amazing views. Crossed the border into Zimbabwe for an elephant ride and to see the Falls from the Zim side. The last 6 days we spent in South Luangwa National Park, staying at Puku ridge and www.luangwariverlodge.com. Again here we took 2 gamedrives  a day but also did some cultural things around Mfuwe. Visited www.chimpembele.org that seems to be excellent at wildlife conservation education of Zambian students and did some shopping at Tribal textiles. On our way home we had had a 5 hour layover in Nairobi and we decided to buy a transit visa in order to leave the aiport to have a tour around Nairobi. we ended up at the Carnivore www.tamarind.co.ke which specializes in game meat and is a truly nice but touristy food experience.
